Office hotel is a term, which you  face daily here at VillageWorks. What does it truly mean? We have noticed that even with the term being as familiar as our pockets, so to say, it does require opening the term up.

So let’s open the term.

Office hotels are offering rental working spaces and services regarding them. You can rent a coworking station, private office room or small office for your company. The staff will take care of all that is required from working spaces from electricity, key management to cleaning. In action this is about ‘’keys in the hand’’ – service. In other terms the office hotel differs from normal office by taking the weight off the customers shoulders to the office hotel. 

IS OFFICE HOTEL JUST A WORKING WORKING SPACE?

Office hotel market has many different service providers, thus the spectrum of services is large and they differ immensely. Some of the service providers concentrate only on the working space and intra, which is often seen as the cheapest space rental fees. Some, like us at VillageWorks, office hotel means a much larger concept as a whole than workspace and the services related to them – even though with the rental contract you are freed of thinking about the toilet paper, printers, electricity bills, one of our operations biggest strengths is community. Under the community we have a comprehensive package that fits a variety of events, benefits and beneficial services for our customers.

Much like VillageWorks, many office hotels also offer short term termination contracts, which lessens the risks of entrepreneurial office risk, as well as provides flexibility in situations when companies operations change – for example by company growing, reducing staff or changing operational-field.

TO WHOM IS OFFICE HOTEL THE RIGHT FIT?

Office hotel as a solution fits especially well for micro- or small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), freelancers or bigger corporations, which need support offices outside of their headquarters. Most of the office hotel customers do so called office work, but office hotel includes many customers for example from operators from beauty and wellness industry, photographers and other creative field entrepreneurs.

Office hotel benefits are among other things community, flexibility and ease. For example, small businesses gain network and larger work community and more time to concentrate on their own operations, when cleaning and other maintenance tasks don’t need worrying over. In addition the office hotel cost is the same monthly, therefore the budget does not need extra for surprising costs. Short notice periods and flexible spaces offer freedom when a company has surprising changes on their journey. In addition office hotels offer customers different events, training and benefits, which strengthen the office hotels customers own employer brand.

IS OFFICE HOTEL A GOOD SOLUTION TO ANY TYPE OF COMPANY?

Office hotel has its limitations, therefore these aren’t the ideal solution for every company. For example, providing space for many hundreds of employees is impossible for many office hotel companies, and rental costs might rise too high for these situations. Office hotel rarely  work as a solution for the production or relai sector, whose work spaces should include special spaces or i.e. display windows, visible to the street. Also  when very loud or extreme silence is required for the task, office hotel is not the ideal solution, even though the sound isolation works on a good level, there is a neighbor behind the wall. People requiring or wanting a network, neighbors are just a plus, but for those who are more comfortable alone, office hotel new encounters and people might feel too burdensome.

So, to sum it up, office hotels work for people who wish for:

  • Flexibility
  • Easiness
  • New networks and larger work community
  • Outsourcing offices base intra elsewhere
  • Predictability in price and on other hand  flexibility in terminating contract on a short notice


Officehotel does not usually work for companies whom:

  • Need production or special spaces
  • Who cant or want to face other company staff during their work day
  • Need large spaces
  • Work loud or in complete silence type of work
