On Friday, 21 November, Finland celebrates the national Children’s Day at Work, and we encourage everyone to bring their children along to experience what being at a workplace is like. The purpose of the day is not to have children perform work, but to introduce them to working life and help them understand how different workplaces operate.
It is a great opportunity for children to see what their parents’ or other close adults’ workday includes, and for adults to pause and view their everyday routines through a child’s eyes. At each VillageWorks location, we will also offer small activities and snacks for children.
Please keep in mind:
- Children must remain under the responsibility and supervision of the accompanying adult at all times.
- Please agree in advance with your supervisor about bringing children to the workplace.
Children’s Day at Work is part of Children’s Rights Week, aiming to increase children’s and young people’s participation in society.
Join us in making the workday shared and memorable.
